June 24 @ 9:00 am June 28 @ 4:00 pm

Choose from a full-day STEM Camp, morning LEGO robotics, or a rotating afternoon STEM series.

Students of all elementary ages will have a great time when they build incredible LEGO robots all week long with the help of our talented instructors, Campers choose what to build from a huge selection of plans and different sets for all skill levels. They can level up, level down, or whatever they feel comfortable with. They are free to build as many different robots as time allows.

Stick around for the afternoon and enjoy a different STEM class each day

  • Scratch Arcade – students learn to program an arcade game using Scratch, MIT’s graphical programming program (pretty much every student will be exposed to it in their academic career).
  • Minecraft – On a private local server, players can create or explore with fellow campers.
  • Sphero – This prismatic programmable sensor-packed ball is incredibly fun.
  • Technic RC – We like to call it LEGO Garage, but it also goes by Power Functions. Students build their own contraptions and operate them remotely.
  • On the last day, we circle back to either one of the previous offerings, work more on incomplete projects, or possibly do something completely different.

August 12 @ 9:00 am August 16 @ 10:00 am

Calling all LEGO-loving adventurers!

Ready to unleash your inner robot builder and conquer the world (or at least your living room) with the coolest creations ever? Then buckle up, because the LEGO Robotics Day Camp is blasting off!

This ain’t your grandma’s summer camp. We’re talking:

  • LEGO EV3 MINDSTORMS: Build robots that walk, talk, and maybe even do your chores (don’t tell Mom!).
  • LEGO Jr. Robotics: Perfect for our pint-sized engineers, these colorful sets are the gateway to robot domination!
  • Epic challenges: Design robots that race, rescue puppies, and maybe even battle.
  • Coding fun: Learn the magic of coding, the secret language robots understand (it’s easier than you think!).
  • Teamwork makes the dream work: Collaborate with new friends, share ideas, and high-five your way to robot glory!

Parents, don’t worry! We’ll keep your little inventors safe, engaged, and learning all week long. Plus, you get a well-deserved break (you’re welcome!).

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up today and let the LEGO robotics revolution begin! Remember, spots fill up faster than a robot on Red Bull, so don’t miss out!

See you there, future robot masters!

And for those who want to explore even more, we have a special STEM afternoon option!

In addition to the awesome LEGO robotics activities, campers can also choose to join our STEM afternoon program, where they’ll get to:

  • Sphero Bolt: Control a real robot ball and learn about coding and robotics with Sphero Bolt.
  • Minecraft: Build, explore, and create in the world of Minecraft, all while learning valuable STEM concepts.
  • Scratch game creation: Bring your coding skills to life by creating your own interactive games with Scratch.
  • Power Up Creations: Supercharge your LEGO builds with LEGO Power Functions. With an assortment of motors and a Bluetooth control module, you will create and control some amazingly cool mechanisms.

The STEM afternoon program is the perfect way for campers to expand their horizons and explore even more exciting areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.

We can’t wait to see you there!

We’re Back! https://robotu.com/were-back-at-least-for-the-seattle-ys/ https://robotu.com/were-back-at-least-for-the-seattle-ys/#respond Sun, 29 Jan 2023 00:10:45 +0000 https://robotu.com/?p=609 Covid has been tough and Robot U has been, for the most part, dormant. Not anymore. Robot U has been a partner with both the Snohomish and the Greater Seattle branches of the YMCA for years, starting with our first camp with the Monroe Y back in 2013. Since then, we quickly established ourselves as one of the most popular programs they could offer, second only to swim camp. This year Seattle is re-starting their outside vendor programs and we will be at Northshore, Dale Turner, Sammamish, and Auburn branches. We’re sure that next year Snohomish will be offering our camps also (fingers crossed).

Also this summer we will be holding multiple camps with Si View Community Center in North Bend. While this year the Y has decided to just do robotics, Si View has opted for a full-day STEM camp that offers a different STEM activity each day. Scratch game design, Sphero robotic balls, Minecraft, Power Functions remote-controlled contraptions, and an instructor’s choice.
